Southern California Termite Control

Termite Control Companies

Did you ever watch the A&E show about exterminators? It is all about a company called Vexcon, based in Louisiana. We follow along with the exterminators as they battle bugs, mice and bats. It’s pretty exciting. It also gives termite control companies a bad image. There are scenes of the Vexcon crew knocking out supporting beams from structures and replacing them with rotten wooden scraps. They cut into the frame of buildings in order to get at damaged material, even when it is not strictly necessary. Overall, Vexcon makes it seem like termite control companies are full of bumbling idiots. That is not the case. Modern termite control companies use all sorts of complex machinery for dealing with pests and infestations. While they do have to remove material damaged beyond repair by termites, it is done in a professional way with quality replacement material. Jacks and other forms of support are used, and professionals trained to deal with building structures are used when infestations are serious enough to warrant the removal of load bearing material. But despite the bumbling appearance that the show gives termite extermination companies, it does manage to bring exterminators into the limelight. These people do what many people can't even stand thinking about: dealing with pests, both live and dead, droppings and rotten wood. The experts at termite control companies are trained to deal with messes.

And the show could serve another purpose. Much of the housing in America has some age on it. Most people do quite little to prevent attack by termites and other pests. By bringing the topic to the forefront in the form of a show, A&E could be encouraging people to take better care of their property, or at least to have their property inspected by a professional. Good termite control companies are able to make all the difference on a deteriorating property. Using an advanced array of tool, like microwaves and electro shock, modern termite control companies are able to kill off the populations in your infected areas before the problem spreads. And their expertise will help you set up future defenses against further home invasion by the various forms of pests. Vexcon is not one of the better pest control companies. When you watch the show, use it as a guide for everything that your termite control company is not supposed to do. Instead, look for a company with lots of experience in the field and a wide variety of different treatment methods. Experience is important because a tool doesn't work itself. The treatment is only as good as the man is at applying it. And having a wide variety of different treating methods helps ensure that, no matter the nature of your problem, the company will be equipped to handle it.

So if you are watching TV and see a show about exterminators, don't take that as the normal state of affairs in pest control. Most companies are professional and skillful. As usual, don't take what you see on TV as being normal. Vexcon was chosen for being entertaining, not because they are good at their job.
